Ever since having a notable role in the Pitch Perfect franchise, Rebel Wilson has gone on to become one of the most in-demand comedy actresses in Hollywood. During this time, she’s become well-known for being quick-witted, with a deadpan sense of humor and a generous dose of confidence.
With these, Wilson has been able to capture quite an audience, which has grown steadily over the past decade or so; they’ve also played a significant role in how her career has gone to date, as she may not be where she is now without these traits. However, one of the most surprising things about Rebel Wilson is the fact that she was the polar opposite of this when she was growing up.
As Rebel Wilson has noted, she was so introverted that it bordered on a social disorder. Furthermore, outside of her family and quite a small circle of friends, she wasn’t known to talk much; this was despite the fact that her family fostered her humor from quite a young age.

Because of this, Wilson’s mother quickly realized that something needed to be done to help her become more sociable and confident.
Initially she struggled to come up with ideas about how this could be done but eventually realized that acting classes might be the right answer. This came as quite a surprise to Rebel Wilson, as she was dropped off at her first acting class without realizing that her mother had enrolled her in one. With no other choice but to take the class, she did so and quickly began to fall in love with it. This would be something that would take a little bit of time, however, and it initially wasn’t much help to her confidence.
However, Rebel Wilson soon read something that suggested personality traits become engrained by the age of 15.
Because of this, she realized that if she wanted to be a confident adult, then she would need to act quickly. With that in mind, she too began to look for more ways to boost her confidence levels; this lead her to join several debate clubs which proved to have a few significant benefits.
This is especially true when it comes to her acting career, as the clubs allowed her to become familiar with performing in front of a large group of people.
Coupled with her acting classes and the humor that she and her family were known for, Rebel Wilson soon began taking a number of acting roles in Australia.
Realizing that she had a significant chance to make a living out of acting, she then moved to Los Angeles to pursue it further. Once there she was then able to secure a role in Pitch Perfect, which helped to launch her career.
